Transport, storage and communication activities contributed 15.6% to Israel’s gross value added (GVA) in 2022, followed by mining, manufacturing and utilities activities (13.8%), and wholesale, retail and hotels activities (10.8%). In nominal terms, the three sectors are forecast to grow by 7.0%, 7.2%, and 6.9%, respectively, in 2023.

Tel Aviv and Jerusalem accounted for 58.8% of the country’s GDP and 59.4% of Israel’s population in 2022, according to MarketLine.

Scope

In July 2023, the country anticipated a plan of ILS433 billion ($128.9 billion) for 228 infrastructure projects during 2023–28.
