Mining, manufacturing, and utilities activities contributed 33.1% to Indonesia’s gross value added (GVA) in 2022, followed by wholesale, retail, and hotel activities (16.0%), and agricultural activities (13.0%). In nominal terms, the three sectors are forecast to grow by 7.5%, 7.4%, and 7.4%, respectively, in 2023.

Five major provinces in Indonesia generated around 55.4% of the country’s GDP and housed 55.6% of the country’s population in 2022.

Scope

As part of the 2023 State Budget, the government increased its allocation to infrastructure development by 7.8%, from IDR363.8 trillion ($23.8 billion) in 2022 to IDR392 trillion ($25.8 billion) in 2023.
